Another from my personal collection. 1st  (Stereo) UK pressing 1st issue John Mayal & the Bluesbreakers 'Crusade ((Stereo)) Album 1967) on the Unboxed Decca labels Purchased from new and initially only ever played two or three times and recorded to tape Over 43 years ago,and then stored in a case for all of these years! (Importantly this has barely been played)The audio is awesome throughout, this looks and plays like a new vinyl in my opinion,, top on all frequencies, I have play tested the vinyl using a dedicated mono cartridge prior to listing, this plays through cristal clear and very vibrant without any distortion and no grooveware,  very near perfect on my systems. (so hard to find like this after 43 years). This album is totaly original with the original 1st issue very flimsy MacNeill Press printed cover in excellent condition and original poly lined, Decca record sleeve makes this album complete and original!. This John Mayall Blues  album is highly sought after and collectable especially in this condition, You will never need to upgrade from this vinyl, it's a real beauty!!

Crusade is a studio album by the British Blues-rock band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, released on September 1, 1967 for London Records. It was the follow-up to A Hard Road, also released in 1967. As with their two previous album, Crusade was produced by Mike Vernon!.

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers were a pioneering English blues band, led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist John Mayall, OBE. Mayall used the band name between 1963 and 1967, but then dropped it for some fifteen years. However, in 1982 a 'Return of the Bluesbreakers' was announced and the name has been kept since then!. The name has become generic without a clear distinction which recordings are to be credited just to the leader or to leader and his band!.

 The Bluesbreakers have included luminaries such as: Eric Clapton (April–August 1965, November 1965–July 1966) and Jack Bruce, who both left to form Cream, Peter Green, who had replaced Clapton, played until August 1967, when he departed with Mick Fleetwood and then also enticed Bluesbreaker John McVie a few weeks later to form Fleetwood Mac, Mick Taylor (August 1967–July 1969) who later joined The Rolling Stones, and reunion tours in 1982–83 and 2004, Harvey Mandel, Walter Trout, Larry Taylor (Mandel, Trout and Taylor left Canned Heat to join Mayall), Don "Sugarcane" Harris, Randy Resnick, Aynsley Dunbar, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser (Free), Chris Mercer, Henry Lowther, Johnny Almond and Jon Mark (later of Mark-Almond)!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original very thick asnd chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings , these are much more robust than later pressings and feature deeper grooves on these originals! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of warps!! This looks awesome! on initial inspection of the playing surface this looks absolutely superbe Like a new unplayed vinyl in my opinion,  Still retaining its original deep glossy sheen from new!! LOOKS SUPERBE! I can barely see a blemish! Only on close scrutiny could possibly, very light whispy surface marks\scuffs be seen mainly whispy sleeve removal marks only, importantly nothing that caused any nasty constant loud clicks or pops that I could hear on my systems at all!!!

The Audio Quality

 I have played this through track for track as usual prior to listing, three times, at very loud volume on a top system!  The audio is truly cristal clear and very vibrant throughout,  (no) loud clicks or pops certainly (no) jumps or skips  CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT ON ALL FREQUENCIES!  This has only ever been played by me two or three times ever  from new and has been stored in a case for the best part of 40 years or more,,  certainly not overplayed!! Unbeleivable to find like this!!! This is clear and vibrant with (no) signs of distortion or that this has been over played at all!! , it is important to note that this vinyl has been laying dormant in a case for over 40 years and a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves would contribute to any static that may possibly be heard. From my personal experiance a constant clean befor each play would reduce this and also enhance the audio quality, and it is also important to note that I could see debrit on the playing surface after play! The audio rade at least excellent plus to very near perfect in my opinion !

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion as usual when describing the audio quality.  Please allow for the odd isolated static crackle\tick but definately not consistant throughout the audio ! Please remember that this is an original 43 year old vinyl that has been played and would have originally been played on a 43 year old system!!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years! From my experiance this vinyl would benefit from a constant clean before each play! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over a period of laying dormant, produces static crackle\ticks and constant cleaning reduces this static and subsequently enhances the audio quality!

The Record Sleeve

This is the Decca poly lined Stereo sleeve has light creasing\staining with age only no edge splits but two tares on one side near the die cut hole. This is the original!  

The labels!

These are the original unboxed DECCA ((MONO)) labels They are SUPERBEcondition!!   Amaizingly I can't see any spidering spidering even  angled to the light! Impossible to find like this! THIS HAS ONLY BEEN PLAYED BY ME A TWO OR THREE TIMES ONLY!! (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round! (SEE PHOTOS) ''MADE IN ENGLAND'' IS FEATURED (ONLY UK PRESS) Labels are like new in my opinion!

The Cover

This is the original 1st press\issue flimsy  laminated  front only cover (sleeve printed in England (BY MACNEILL PRESS, LONDON) Very hard to keep or find in good condition In exceptional condition for 43 years old! No splits or tares and super glossy laminate appearence.! Please note, there is a record shop label, stuck at the rear top.Amaizingly No real creases to talk of, just very very minor smal laminate creases barely noticable.   Very minor general storageware and one slight corner with bumping only  (no) nasty names written at all the rear is exceptionaly clean with minor very light marks with age only. This must be at least excellent in my opinion!
