Description
I bought this record new in the late 60's from an import shop in Melbourne,taped it on reel to reel tape. It has only been played a dozen or so times over the years most recently just before listing. This is the 1967 US pressing, It has the catalog number A-9106 on the cover and AS-9106 on the label,which denotes a stereo pressing. The matrix numbers in the dead wax run outs on the respective sides are AS-9106-A and AS-9106-B, these are both etched in the dead wax run outs with the letters LW . The word VAN GELDER is stamped in the dead wax run out on both sides. The orange labels have "A Product of ABC Records Inc., New York, N.Y. 10019, Made in U.S.A" printed below the track list. (refer discogs). The 1967 pressing was the second pressing, later pressings had the black label surrounded by an orange rim. The vinyl on both sides is shiny with some scuffs from taking the record in and out of the cover, and there are some light marks which do not effect the playing. There is some low level surface noise on the run in tracks and between the tracks, but this is masked while the music is playing, both sides play loud and clear.(VG). The cover is a heavy grade cardboard gate fold. The front and back have a high gloss laminate, this shows some wear if held at an angle to the light, but still shiny when looked directly at. The inner sides of the gate fold have a low sheen, there are some small light stains, and some light yellowing around the edges from years of storage.(see photos 7 & 8) Overall the cover is still rigid and there are no creases or tears and the spine is still intact,easily read in the shelf(VG).
