Description

I inherited this Lp. It is the Impulse stereo A-77 1972 re-release. The label has a red ring and at the bottom just states "A product of ABC Records..." and doesn't say ABC-Paramount Records...". No dates appear on the record labels themselves. It has the following dead wax notations:

  • Matrix / Runout (Side A): STEREO AS-77 A VAN GELDER
  • Matrix / Runout (Side B): STEREO AS-77 B VAN GELDER

Label printing:
  • Side A: "AS-77-A"
  • Side B: "AS-77-B"
  • (on some versions the sides are labeled "AS-77 Side A" "AS-77 Side B")

The inner sleeve is a different design than some pictured elsewhere on the internet. I listened to the whole record. It sounds really nice with very low surface noise and only one light pop. The vinyl has excellent sheen but there are some very light scuffs that don't seem to affect playback that you can see if you hold the disk at the right angle. Please see pics. The sleeve rates an excellent. Nice shiny presentation with no edge wear and no ring wear. There is a tiny bit of wear on the corner at the top of the spine, hardly any on the bottom. There are small bumps on the bottom and top corners of the spine. There is a spot of clear lamination that's peeling off the back by the slot, see pic. There is a spot of rubbing wear on the lamination between the "e" and the "S" after the word "Love" on the front cover. inside the gatefold at the bottom "copyright 1964 ABC-Paramount Records, INC." is printed. The inside of the gatefold is very clean. Record will be shipped in proper Lp mailer with stiffeners, poly sleeve for the disk and corner protection.
