This record is from a private collection - please see my other vinyl listings from the rest of the collection. These records have seen very little play and have been stored in the persons since the 80's. There's some aging to the sleeves but the records are all EX/VG+ with no deep scratches and just need to be cleaned. Because of this I'm saying everything is VG+, conservatively. Please see images for condition. Low starting price of £10 for every record in this collection!
This is the rare US first pressing of John Coltrane's First Meditations which was the last recording with the classic quartet featuring pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones! This album can be considered the sequel to A Love Supreme, bridging the gap before John Coltrane went full on free jazz and avant-garde spiritual! He would re-record this album with 2 extra players (Pharoah Sanders) and release it as simply Meditations (where these compositions were now completely free!). Such an interesting record (some would even say his last "accessible" record) that only saw its release in 1977). The discs look to be in vg+ condition and the sleeve is holding up great.
