Description
Rare collectable 1964 Impulse! Records, original US Stereo pressing, orange and black Impulse labels, thick laminated gatefold cover. One of Coltrane's best, but probably one his most underrated (IMO). Gorgeous analog sound quality, Van Gelder mastering stamp in the vinyl runouts, still the best version ever in any format.
VPI cleaned and play graded, record in solid VG condition, most of it plays VG+. There are a fair amount of hairline scratches, but most do not interference with the sound, only occasional light surafce noise and a few brief pops/ticks. There is one feelable scratch on Side 2 that takes it down a notch grading-wise, pretty much right at the quiet bass solo part, causing some louder ticks for a minute or so.
The iconic gatefold cover is VG as well, mostly looks really good for its age (50+ years old!). Unfortunately, the very top right corner has been crushed fairly badly (see photo #4). Otherwise, just some edge wear and other normal signs of ageing.
Packed and shipped with care. You can combine any records I am selling for a significant shipping discount. Thanks.
