Note! This is an original USA issue on the IMPULSE label. I’ve been collecting LPs since 1958 and now it’s time to pass on some of these great sounds.
Recorded in concert at Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan, July 22, 1966 and finally released on these LPs in 1973. This concert was originally recorded monaurally for a radio broadcast and issued here as ‘synthesized quad’.
By this time, ‘Trane was well into free jazz and these lengthy tracks are not an easy listen but are important recordings from the year before he died.
