I thought some time ago that Louis Armstrong doing ‘Miller’s Cave ‘ was close to the ultimate genre cross-over disc. Then I heard this record. It’s in the style of the Barron Knights/ Four Preps etc satirical musical style. Here they take the old Slim Dusty standard and attack it in the mode of the Atlantics savage surf style, the Tijuana Brass and even the New Vaudeville Band! What were they thinking? I dunno. But Slim would never have sanctioned this. I have another record by this group. It’s a folk sendup of Botany Bay etc. Tame by these standards! It seems the group have autographed the sleeve for somebody named “Denise’. It’s a crazy mongrel looking for a good home.

FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks. .
