Description

Up for auction at NO RESERVE is "New York in the 1960s" by John Cale on the Table of the Elements label, catalog #(?). The 5 records are VG/VG+ with smudges and scuffs from being in the strange plastic sleeves (or maybe they were done during the pressing stage). They are not scratches and I spot checked a few spots on all sides and they play without clicks. One record has a very slight dish warp, but plays fine also. I think they will all have some of these marks and I don't see it as a problem. The music is stunning and is of a nature that you might not notice noise if there were any (and there isn't).

The insert is in NM condition and the box just shows some light shelf wear. I've never had to assign a record collector grade to a wooden box, but I'd say it's VG+. This box weighs right around 5 lbs after packing and is very heavy so please check shipping rates in the listing so you can bid accordingly. This set came out in 2004 and has been out of print almost since its' release. These are the seminal recordings with Tony Conrad. And on some of them, especially those with future Velvet Underground members you can a foreshadowing of what's to come. Some very cool avant garde stuff and awesome drone rock mixed in with a little musique concrete and poetry. Here's a personnel and track listing.....
