This record was made by the English singer Joe Cocker. Cockerwas known for his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage performances thatfeatured expressive body movements. Most of his best known singles wererecordings of songs written by other song writers, though he composed a numberof songs for most of his albums as well, often in conjunction with song writingpartner Chris Stainton. His first album featured a recording The Beatles “WithA Little Help From My Friends” which brought him to near-instant stardom. Thesong reached number one in the UK in 1968, became a staple of his many liveshows. He released a total of 22 studio albums over a 43-year recording career.
DoubleCocker Power! was an Australian compilation double album re-issue of Cocker’s first 2 classic,& many say his best albums "With A Little Help From My Friends"& "Joe Cocker!" Released to tie in with Joe's then imminent, butnow infamous Aussie Tour where he was busted for dope & deported, theDouble album charted these 2 gems all over again, reaching #8 & lasting 6months in the Top 100.
