One of Joe Bataan's greatest albums ever! a landmark record that bridges a number of different musical worlds. Although Joe's own music on previous albums was known as "Latin Soul". This one has him dropping some of the Latin influences to move towards a soul-based sound. One that shows the incredible power of the ballad and harmony styles in the Latin community.
The tracks are pretty much all straight soul numbers, done by Joe with incredibly heartfelt vocals in a mode that's both mellow and hip, emotive, but never cloying. Includes versions of "Shaft" (featured on Kool It -- Soul, Funk, & Jazz Go Latin- Harmless UK) and other great tunes original to the album, like "Johnny's No Good", "You're Driving Me Right Out of My Mind" (check the vibes!)
