Description
The versatile blues shouter during his relatively brief stint with Chess. On 'Big Daddy' he rocks and hollers and there is plenty of active Lafayette Leake Piano well to the fore all supported by a stalwart band inc Eddie Chamblee, Lee Cooper and Freddy Below. The reverse has that oddly attractive echo to the repeated 'great God Almighty when the lights go out' phrase. More nice sax guitar and piano here too plus Willie Dixon. Good Chess recorded sound. Well remembered in the UK from it's appearance on various Pye Internationl LP's! Chicago. IL. 1954.
If buying more than one record within the UK wait for my invoice or pay individually and I will refund any overpaid postage. Overseas I am using eBay's Global Shipping programme which may mean that multiple wins are charged VAT and postage individually so be aware. I pack in 12x12x6" boxes with stiffeners and peanuts for protection. All parcels are sent tracked and/or signed for. Payment via Paypal.
