JIMMY SMITH "Jimmy Smith at the Organ" Blue Note 1551, P, RVG, Mono Vinyl

BONUS: Includes 45 rpm single from the album, "Summer Time / How High The Moon". Visually graded, very clean with a couple hairline marks.

This is the 1957, first edition, Deep Grooved, Laminated Cover, "RVG" etched, "P"-pressing of JIMMY SMITH's "Jimmy Smith at the Organ /  The Incredible, Volume 1" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 1551. Musicians include Lou Donaldson, Kenny Burrell, Art Blakey.

VINYL plays very well with varying low to medium level surface noise (i.e, static, ?? or ????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble Instrumental sections are dynamic and strong with clean transients, and full tone. The Noise is beneath the music. Handful of hairline marks and scuffs, none feelable. Good gloss. The deep groove "47 West 63rd" labels are largely clean with spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in very good condition; corners worn. Top and bottom seams worn, no splits. Spine shows cracking and start of middle split. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23" back jacket is very clean. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a system consisting of Kuzma Stogi Stabi turntable, Shindo Allegro preamplifier, Shindo Haut Brion amplifier, Devore Fidelity O/93 loudspeakers. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC AUDIO DESK SYSTEME VINYL PRO CLEANER.
