JIMMY SCOTT AND THE MAXIMUM BREED -- Allulo b/w Doh - On The Rocksteady Revolution Label REV 002 Mega-rare 1970 soul-funk single on obscure British label (best known for its reggae output) by legendary African-born conga player Jimmy Scott and his band. Jimmy was a veteran jazz player who worked the British clubs in the 1950s and later with Georgie Fame and is known to have inspired Paul McCartney's 1968 song Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da and he even played percussion on their track. The B-side Alullo is a 5 minute+ wild, organ and brass-led uptempo funky instrumental jam with an extended conga break!!! The A-side (Doh) is a ska-influenced sax and organ filled funky dance groove with vocal. Listen To Both Sides Below
