JIMI HENDRIX LIVE AT WOODSTOCK - If you want raw, electrifying, frightful, unruly, mesmerizing, aggressive, urgent, and occasionally brilliant sound, listen to Jimi Hendrix’s Monday morning Woodstock finale. Most of the masses had gone home, Jimi was nervous, his band unrehearsed in August of 1969. His band, which he dubbed Gypsy Sun and Rainbows for this performance, was in a period of transition between the heavy psychedelic bluesy Experience and the more soulful, rhythmically dynamic Band of Gypsies. Hendrix seems to touch on every musical style -- from jazz to blues to funk to soul to metal, and even a few that weren’t christened yet (fusion, punk). There is no more historic or more explosive a performance than LIVE AT WOODSTOCK..

By the time Hendrix and his band took the stage Monday morning at 9 a.m., hundreds of thousands had already escaped the rain, mud and chaos. But 25,000 dedicated souls remained to celebrate the performance of the most visionary force in rock, Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix and His Band - which included drummer Mitch Mitchell and Bassist Billy Cox - rocked highlights from the recently disbanded Experience (like never-before-released performance of "Foxey Lady" and "Hey Joe"), and previewed the blues/funk variations to come with the Band of Gypsys ("Izabella," "Hear My Train A Comin'"). The set was an expression of Hendrix' range and vitality - masterful, unpredictable, and intoxicating. The prior three days had witnessed electrifying landmark sets by Sly & The Family Stone, The Who, and Ten Years After, as well as the national debuts of Santana, Joe Cocker, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. But it was Jimi who had the last word. And he rose to the challenge that morning of August 18, 1969 with a set that's remembered as the crowned jewel of the festival that defined the decade in music.

3 DAYS OF WOODSTOCK 5 LP BOX SET - This 5LP set contains live music from the notorious 1969 Woodstock concert. Experience the excitement of the 3-day event with this live recording which includes stage dialogue, stage announcements and even the rain chant initiated by the crowd as an attempt to stop the rainstorm.

Timed with the 40th Anniversary of the Woodstock festival, the original Woodstock soundtracks "Music From the Original Soundtrack and More: Woodstock" and "Woodstock Two" are packaged together to form this 5-LP boxed set. The LPs are cut from the original analog soundboard tapes and the package also includes a 20-page, oversized 12" x 12" photo book.

The "Music From the Original Soundtrack and More: Woodstock" and "Woodstock 2" sets within the box set live in triple gatefold jackets with full-color matte cover art. The 20-page booklet contains black & white as well as full-color images taking the viewer/listener back in time to the rock concert that will be remembered forever. All this is housed in a beautiful sturdy box with embossed concert image on cover and interior ribbon to facilitate easy removal of items.
