This is a UK 1st press of 'Electric Ladyland' by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. This rare press has the A1/B1/A1/B1 earliest matrix numbers all corrected and Side 3 is completely crossed out, confirming that is the very earliest press. They are complete with the matt, flat Track labels. Both records have the original polylined inner sleeves and the early white text Track fully laminated Ernest J Day gatefold sleeve. Released in 1968, this was Hendrix third and final album and was the only album to be produced under his supervision. Under Ebay policy we are unable to show images of the sleeve.
Record A is in Very Good+ condition. The heavy vinyl is jet black with a stunning bright gloss. There is no whitening of the grooves or any sign of heavy play at all. There are just a few light marks on each side. Record B is still glossy but has a few more marks and is Good condition. The original matt Track labels are still completely clean. The black is extremely solid, the silver text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear. Both records are complete with their original polylined inner sleeves.
Both records sit completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound is rich, vibrant and very clear. There are a couple of light clicks some light background hiss especially on Record 2 but there is no noise at any point that spoils the enjoyment of the wonderful bold 60's heavy vinyl sound.
The laminated gatefold Ernest J Day sleeve is in Very Good condition. The laminate has a sensational mirrored shine. The colours are warm and bright and the black is exceptionally bold. There are a couple of light laminate creases and some spine wear. The inside is extremely bright and the images are sharp. The edges are still firm and the whole sleeve is solid.
