UP for bid is this OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL 1967 MONO 1st pressing of The Jimi Hendrix Experience debut LP " Are You Experienced" on the Reprise record label cat # R6162. This LP is pressed in the ULTRA RARE MONO format and there very few of these pressed. The promos of this LP are actually more common than the stock copies. What makes this copy even rarer is that it is virtually UNPLAYED with just 2 test plays and the audio is an outstanding MINT-. You will NOT find a BETTER SOUNDING copy.
The cover is still in it's FACTORY SHRINKWRAP ! The only flaw on this cover is a small area of the shrink was sliced away on the lower right rear where a price sticker (C) was placed. The white in this area is discolored and also at the opening of the mouth due to the exposure to the air. This is the only thing keeping this cover from being graded MINT-. It has four sharp corners with no splits, no creases, no bends, no writing, and no ringwear. It must grade EXCELLENT if not EXCELLENT +.
The ORIGINAL 1st press Reprise Tri-color labels are MINT- with NO SPINDLE MARKS.
The ORIGINAL 1st press UNPLAYED vinyl has some light discoloration spots which are just from the color mixing of the vinyl at the factory and do not affect play. Visually the vinyl is EXCELLENT, however it plays an OUTSTANDING MINT-. I really believe that you will not find a better playing copy.
This album is 100% complete with it's ORIGINAL Reprise inner sleeve that is in great condition with some discoloration due to it's age.
Do not pass up the opportunity to own the ULTRA RARE LP. I'm sure that there are not many of these left in the world today especially in this condition.
