Description
This is one of the greatest psych rock albums of all time. It's a UK stereo pressing entitled 'Electric Ladyland' by The Jimi Hendrix Experience on the original UK Track label. This album was released in 1968 and I understand that this is an early stereo pressing. The catalogue number is 613008/613009. The music is stunning and you will find it difficult to get hold of an example as beautiful as this.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is laminated on all sides and is in fine condition with some minor wear and ring wear on the outside back and front. The top and bottom edges show some minor wear and the spine is in fine condition with some minor delamination. The inner portion of the sleeve is in fine condition with only minor wear. It features the white wording at the bottom of the inner portion of the sleeve. It states on the inner portion of the sleeve - 'Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London W11'. I've graded the sleeve as Ex--.
INNER SLEEVE - These are die cut plain paper sleeves with clear polythene liners. It states on one side of each sleeve - 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS... ETC. - British bPatent No. 800513 & 973939 0870 33 (first sleeve) 31/0770 (second sleeve) Made in England'. I've graded the two sleeves Ex-/Ex-.
RECORD - These record which are clearly early pressings are in fine condition and look very clean with some minor surface marks on all 4 sides which result in some surface noise throughout. Most of this noise is inaudible but there is some surface noise during quiet passages and in between tracks. there is a very slight white mark on track one on side B but the record plays through this perfectly. There are some pops and clicks but there are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The labels which are the textured black Track type with the silver logo and wording are in fine condition. There are some minor spindle marks on all 4 labels. Side A (1) is backed with side D (4) and this record has the catalogue no. 613008 and side B (2) is backed with side C (3) and this record has the catalogue no. 613009. The matrix numbers are printed upside down on each label above the catalogue numbers. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side A (1) - 61300XX8 A//1 1 2 4 - side two - D (4) - 613008 BV2 420 1 1 1 - side B (2) - 613009 AV2 420 1 1 1 - side C (3) - 613009 B//2 420 1 1 1. I have graded the records as Ex/Ex and believe that this is very fair.
I try to grade all my items as accurately and conservatively as possible and I will provide a full refund to any winner of my auctions who is not 100% satisfied. Please see my feedback for any references required.
