THE RECORD - VISUAL GRADING - NEAR MINT

A thick pressed set of glossy vinyls. Virtually pristine this is a lovely set. These vinyls look and sound virtually un played. On initial inspection I cannot see a single mark of ANY kind. Only when held against a spot light can I find ONE single tiny ultra light hairline. Vinyl doesn't come much cleaner than this, and these are original vinyls that are over 40 years old!

They could only have had a few actual plays including my careful testing. Absolutely stunning!

ALBUM PLAYED FOR AUDIO GRADING:

Yes – brilliant! - NEAR MINT sound quality throughout!

ELECTRIC LADYLAND is a complex and varied collection of music, and is also a relatively sensitive piece of vinyl, and hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like ' Rainy Day.' This copy has strong undistorted audio, with Super clear sound and absolutely minimal background static. There is certainly no dominant  interference anywhere on these vinyls, and NO pops or clicks and certainly NO Distortion. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity!

Superb sound, every track has been tested and I could find no obvious sound blemishes. Some ultra light occasional static only, and it is light and very occasional. Wonderful TOP audio, there is NO distortion, NO sticks or jumps what so ever, and virtual silence between the tracks.

These rare vinyls play with Top Audio, amazing crystal clear sound. The record plays with staggering power. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power. As is the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst Jimi's guitars come through crisp and clear. I have given these vinyls a NEAR MINT grading. On saying that these records really do play with Fantastic Audio, amazing clarity, definition and sound separation, and NO distortion what so ever and a lot of the time sound brand new. SUPERB! 

This vinyl is an absolute gem! It must be the clearest copy of ELECTRIC LADYLAND I've heard. Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of sound. ELECTRIC LADYLAND was recorded with a near Live feel, including actual studio sounds and many sparse sections, making it very prone to audio loss. Finding a copy that allows all the audio complexities to sing through is un believably rare. Listening to this record blew me away, the sound of 'Voodoo Chile' and delicate tracks like 'Moon Turn the Tides', absolutely amazing!!!

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING: - Yes, NONE visible what so ever, when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.  

Electric Ladyland is the third and final album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, released in September 1968. Produced and directed by Hendrix, the album has been viewed  as the peak of his guitar and lyrical mastery. Electric Ladyland is the last album released as the Jimi Hendrix Experience as well as the last Hendrix studio album professionally produced under his supervision. After Electric Ladyland, Hendrix spent the remaining two years of his life organising a new band, touring, and recording new songs. 

Hendrix's studio perfectionism was legendary – along with Mitchell he recorded well over 50 takes of "Gypsy Eyes," over three sessions – feeling insecure about his voice and often recording the vocals hidden behind studio screens. Hendrix sings all the backing vocals himself on the title track and on "Long Hot Summer Night," and was said to have been happy with the vocal results on "Have You Ever Been". The controversial original UK album cover photograph showed a group of nude women, and was soon replaced by a more modest fiery portrait of Hendrix singing, making any original UK Nude laminated covers extremely rare and collectable.

With a hectic tour schedule and also trying to record a masterpiece, Hendrix tried to find some normality in his life by inviting friends and acquaintances to the studio during the recordings. Supposedly Chas Chandler hated spending so much time in the studio and partly blamed it on the full studio. Regular producer, manager and mentor Chas Chandler  eventually quit in May 1968, later complaining about Hendrix's insistence on doing multiple takes of every song, along with his alleged drugged incoherence, leading him to sell his share of the management company to his partner Michael Jeffery.  Hendrix went on to produce his most successful LP himself, followed by several very successful tours, which mostly sold out.

THE COVER 

Comes with the 1st Press STEREO Gatefold Laminated Cover, the original Side Loading Sleeve printed in the UK. 

It is made in the heavier thick card only found on the early press albums with full Laminate. Its a stunning example and would have to be graded at  least at EXCELLENT! The spine is near perfect, undented and un split.  There are some  light dents to the other corners as clearly shown in the images, and one to two very light scratches (seen only when angled to the light) but they are minor, and I wouldn't say they spoilt the over all super quality of this controversial cover. Its a really stunning example.

THE LABELS -  EXCELLENT  PLUS CONDITION

Superb labels, I could find  a couple of ultra light spindle traces only. Absolutely no marks or writing, just some faint brush marks that these labels seem prone to, but they are very very minimal. Great all round examples!

THE INNERS

EXCELLENT condition Original poly lined inner sleeves. NO tears around the die cut openings, minimal wear at the tops, virtually undetectable. Minimal creasing and NO seam splits down any of the edges. Some slight discolouration only.

The vinyls themselves will of course come in two plain white inner sleeves.

RARITY

ELECTRIC LADYLAND was produced in large quantities, and the polydor copies far exceeded the Track label version. On saying that, finding any copy of ELECTRIC LADYLAND, with an original Laminated Nude cover, and pristine vinyls that sound astonishing, make this an unbelievably rare example of the hugely collectable Hendrix masterpiece

This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
