The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland 1968 double album on Track records 613008/613009 in Stereo. This is a genuine 1st pressing of the album as depicted as follows:-
This is the fully laminated gatefold cover with the "smudged" all important blue text track listing and production details including the larger sepia pictures of Noel Redding & Mitch Mitchell. The labels show the inverted matrix numbers
There is a subtle label change between 1st & 2nd press, both having inverted catalog data. 'Side A' 1st press has "Electric Ladyland" overlapping the center indent and there is a small gap between the words "Jimi Hendrix" & "A.Schroeder Music". 'Side A' 2nd press has "Electric Ladyland" clear of the indent. The unit of text has moved down, so that "Jimi Hendrix" is closer to "A.Schroeder Music"
The lamination on Track issues is poor, leaving exposed print on the two opening edges and around all four edges of the inside spread. Bubbling, creasing & de-lamination also occurred and 'perfection' is an unlikely find - until the improved process on Polydor issues.
Matrices/Stampers on these are corrected by "had etching" on the dead wax!

Condition Summary
VINYLS - Both are in very good condition and have been play tested. No major defects (no skips/loud clicks) and no nailcatchers on any of the four sides. Both vinyls do have some light superficial surface scratches producing some low-level noise on musically quieter parts and blank wax areas. Side D shows the most visible of all the surface marks but these have an almost negligible effect on the sound quality, certainly sound reproduction is equal to the other three sides.
COVER
The Ernest J Day & Co. fully laminated "nude" gatefold is in great condition. The front "nude" panels are extremely clean with only several small 1cm creases in the laminate around the edges. Similarly the inside portrait panels are in great condition too. The seams are strong, undamaged condition. The outer spine is in excellent condition with just a hint of laminate roughness to the touch. The inside spine hinge shows traces of laminate cracking but to be expected from a 44 year old album! The gatefold also has not been "reverse folded" to hide the nudes' modesty as with so many of these covers! The inner gatefold photos, panel laminate and text passages are all in very nice bright condition, no fading, bubbling or peeling. The open edges and corners are still quite sharp and have no tears or splits with minimal signs of wear. There are no pin holes either as with many of these covers were hung as posters, NOT THIS ONE!!
LABELS
These are in excellent condition no damage, clean with light spindle marks in the centres.
INNER SLEEVES
Poly lined white inners that are immaculate.

"Original Track UK pressings of this record are impossible to find, they dried up years ago. There are plenty of Polydor reissue copies still about, and even one or two later 'white text' Track second pressings, but the UK Track Record 1st pressing with the original blue text E. J. Day sleeve and upside down cat number labels is the true original".

I am sad to have to sell it but we are downsizing and do not have the room available to keep it, therefore she needs a new home to a collector who will cherish it for as long & probably longer than I have!
