Description
On offer here is a FIRST PRESS copy of the JIMI HENDRIX BAND OF GYPSYS released 12/6/70 which was pre-ordered by myself and part of my own collection. The vinyl is NEAR MINT and has no scratches or marks and plays as new, in fact apart from a few light spindle marks on the label it would pass as new. The TRACK label shows the title spelling as the Band of Gipsies, record no.2406 002 and the run out has the matrix nos. A1, B1. Which shows it to be a RARE FIRST PRESS!!! This pressing is on very thick high quality vinyl which has a fantastic shine and lustre and looks like new. I think the chances of finding a copy in this condition are very remote.
THE SLEEVE IS NEAR MINT!!! with only a light rubbing on the spine, so light that the writing is perfectly legible. There are light marks where the Record is inserted but apart from that the sleeve is as new. The First Press sleeves were not laminated and to find one in this condition is VERY RARE indeed. This is the famous TRACK puppet sleeve which only lasted 2 months before being replaced with pictures of Jimis performance at the Isle of Wight festival on the second Track cover.
