Darbyncoates is pleased to offer Are You Experienced, the debut album for both The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and also for the record label Track Records. This album is the 1st, and original pressing of the British release.
This one is arguably the top of the mountain for the Psych Rock genre. Here is what Wikipedia says:
"Are You Experienced is the debut album by the rock band the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Released in 1967, the LP was an immediate critical and commercial success, and it is widely regarded as one of the greatest debuts in the history of rock music. The album features Jimi Hendrix's innovative approach to songwriting and electric guitar playing which soon established a new direction in psychedelic and hard rock music. Coming after three successful European singles, it helped introduce him as a new international star."
"In 2005, Rolling Stone ranked Are You Experienced fifteenth on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time."
THE VINYL : VG+ : The audio quality of this Mono recording is quite strong in this grade. There are no deep marks; evident are numerous shallow, thin and short marks, as well as a few paper rubs. The labels on both sides are clean and clear with no paper loss or cracking (see photos); there are some spindle marks. There is no warping. There are some pops and clicks, however they are short in duration and are not loud. Here are the run out stampers:
Side 1 : 612 001 This is followed by the triangle symbol between the A and the 1
Side 2 : 612 001 This is followed by a star and triangle symbol between the B and the 1
THE COVER: VG+ : The laminated front cover has good colour along with some wrinkles and some ringwear; minor edgewear; the upper & lower seams are intact; the spine seam is intact at the edges, however in the middle of the spine there is a 4 " tear. The black & white paper back cover has faint ringwear & a bit of age-related yellowing. I will include the inner sleeve that came with this beauty (it is old but has no markings. I don't think it is the original inner sleeve). I have placed the LP in a plastic coated inner sleeve to better protect its condition.
