THIS IS THE VERY FIRST PRESSING WITH THE RARE SCRATCHED OUT MATRIX NUMBERS AND THE ESSENTIAL EARLIER MIX OF THE ALBUM - WHICH IS VERY DIFFERENT TO THE SLIGHTLY LATER TRACK ISSUES!! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL WAY HENDRIX WANTED THE ALBUM TO BE MASTERED WITH THE '3D' SOUNDSCAPE IDEA HE ORIGINALLY HAD - THIS WAS EXPENSIVE TO PRODUCE AND THE LABEL RECEIVED RETURNS AS CHEAP STEREO'S AT THE TIME COULDN'T HANDLE THE MASTERING AND THE RECORDS SKIPPED - THIS AND THE COST QUICKLY PERSUADED TRACK TO REMASTER (POORLY IN MY OPINION) AND RELEASE THE MIX WE ALL KNOW THAT IS AVALIABLE STILL TODAY!... THIS HOWEVER IS THE ESSENTIAL WAY TO HEAR THIS ALBUM AND HAS NEVER BEEN REISSUED SINCE 1968 IN ANY FORMAT!!- ONLY THE FIRST FEW HUNDRED COPIES ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE THIS!

RARER STILL THIS IS THE BLUE TRACK LISTING SLEEVE - AGAIN IT WAS ONLY PRESSED IN SMALL AMOUNTS - OF AROUND A FEW HUNDRED - JUST TO STRESS HOW RARE THIS IS! THE VINYL IS HEAVY AND THICK - QUALITY VINYL! - TEXTURED MATT BLACK TRACK LABELS - MEGA RARE

NOW THE GOOD NEWS, THE SHOP KEEPER DECIDED AT THE TIME THAT THE SLEEVE WAS NOT SUITABLE FOR VIEWING SO DECIDED TO TURN THE INSIDE OUT AND EXHIBIT THE INNER SLEEVE INSTEAD. AS CONSEQUENCE, THE SLEEVE WITH THE NUDE LADIES HAS BEEN PROTECTED AND KEPT IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A SPINE THAT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (see photos) WITH MINOR FEATHERING ON THE EDGES.

THE INNER SLEEVE HAS THE BLUE TEXT AND THE LARGER PHOTOS OF THE BAND AND THE ONLY BAD NEWS IS THAT THE INNER “SPINE” IS SLIGHTLY DAMAGED AS IT WAS INSIDE OUT (see photo), THE SLEEVE HAS FEATHERING IN THE EDGES AND THE CORNERS ARE SLIGHTLY ROUNDED FROM USE.

THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE RECORDS AND THE LABELS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

DON’T MISS THE CHANCE OF OWNING THIS RARE HISTORIC RECORD.

Guide to grades used

Mint                       Cover - Looks new - no marks, wear or damage

Disc - Looks unplayed - no marks visible

Near Mint               Cover - Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.

Disc - May have minor scuffs &/or hairline scratches caused by moving record in & out of paper sleeve

Excellent                 Cover - Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.

Disc- May have a few superficial marks &/or hairline scratches and paper scuffs.

Very good               Cover - Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.

Disc - Surface marks &/or hairline scratches. Moderate paper scuffs.

Good                       Cover - Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage.

Disc - Looks very well played. A lot of surface marks/scratches
