JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE
ARE YOU EXPERIENCED
TRACK 1st PRESSING in MONO
UK RELEASE 1967 TRACK 612 001
MATRIX NOS: A1; B1
MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN WITH ERNEST J. DAY FRONT LAMINATED SLEEVE
Following the debut single Hey Joe in 1966 Hendrix's debut album Are You Experienced was released in 1967 and blew everyone away. There had been nothing like it before, and really nothing like it since. Hendrix's heroes Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck were completely in awe of the man and this album clearly shows why. Rock music was never the same again!
This MONO version is a far superior sound quality to the awful stereo mix and serves as a testiment to that period of the sixties where engineers knew how to master mono but found the freedom to experiment with stereo tempted them to overdo the gimmickry - often at the expense of the true sound of the band. In mono it sounds simply superb - as Hendrix sounded.
CONDITION:-
SLEEVE: Very good condition with only a few wrinkles hinting of delamination on the front. The rear has a slight bit of shelf wear toward the spine. The spine is really worn. These are all shown clearly on the photographs.
LABELS: Excellent condition with plenty of visible spindle marks as shown on photos.
VINYL: I bought this album the day it was released and it has been well played. As a result there are several marks on the vinyl and some light background crackle in the quieter parts. There is one scuff on side 2 which results in more pronounced clicking during Fire, but the album plays well with NO skips or jumps and still maintains a rich sound and enjoyable listening with good looking heavy vinyl considering its age and the fact that it has been well played. This is a piece of rock history but not for buyers looking for a near mint copy (if such a cop exists?)
Postage by recorded delivery and packaged in professional record mailer with stiffeners. The vinyl & sleeve are packed in seperate nylon bags.
On a personal note, I am British and having relocated to Greece I'm forced, reluctantly, to part with my vast record collection in order to finance our charity for stray animals (we feed and provide medicine to over sixty animals every day and need to raise money to keep going). Virtually all albums are UK issues, from the sixties onwards and many are genuine first pressings. Keep an eye out over the next few months as I'll be posting some great albums for sale.
