Description
JETHRO TULL, THIS WAS, UK ISLAND LP/ORIGINAL 1968 MONO 1st PRESS/PINK LABEL/RARE
Jethro Tull – This WasJethro Tull are a British rock group that formed in 1967/1968. Their music is marked by the distinctive vocal style and lead flute work of front man Ian Anderson. Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavour, they have, over the years, incorporated elements of classical, folk and ‘ethnic’ music, jazz and art rock. The initial band consisted of Ian Anderson (vocals, flute, mouth organ and piano); Mick Abrahams (vocals and guitars), replaced by Martin Barre for their second album; Clive Bunker (drums); Glenn Cornick (bass guitar) and David Palmer (French horn and orchestral arrangements).
This is the rare first press mono copy! It does have a few noticeable marks and plays with the odd click/pop and some light background crackle here and there but certainly nothing nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music. So to sum up it doesn ’t look too good but it’s still a great listen!
Side One: My Sunday Feeling; Some Day The Sun Won’t Shine For You; Beggar’s Farm; Move On Alone; Serenade To A Cuckoo.
Side Two: Dharma For One; It’s Breaking Me Up; Cat’s Squirrel; A Song For Jeffrey; Round.
The album is on Island Records, ILP 985. Matrix side one: ILP+985+A (stamped). Matrix side two: ILP+985+B (stamped).
1968. UK pressing. Mono pink island 'orange/black eye' rough textured first issue labels.
Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: very good (has a few noticeable marks and plays with the odd click/pop and a bit of light backround crackle here and there but nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still a great listen, plays with no jumps or skips).
Vinyl side 2: very good (has a few noticeable marks and plays with a bit of light backround crackle here and there but nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still a great listen, plays with no jumps, skips or clicks).
Cover (outer laminated, gatefold, inner flip back at top, wide spine): excellent (a few light creases, light wear at opening edge, some light aging).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. Payment strictly by PayPal only. Postal discounts available for multiple purchases - Please email for details. 521 (GS 6.6.1 (521))
