Description
This Jethro Tull album was released in 1972 on the Chyralis Label. It has the matrix numbers:
Side 1: CHR 1003 A-3U and the word "PORKY" hand etched.
Side 2: CHR 1003 B-2U and the word "PECKO" hand etched.
I bought the album shortly after its release. The record is in excellent condition and the vinyl is virtually unmarked. I recorded the album to tape shortly after purchase and often played the tape rather than the album - hence its nearly new condition. It plays very well with superb sound and with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years. There are, however, two small clicks on side one after about 70 seconds. There is no visible mark on the record to indicate why this should be so, and the clicks have always been there (could it be in the pressing?).The record has been stored vertically in a record cabinet alongside other LPs all its life.
The front cover is in excellent condition. It is very clean and has no marks or creases on it despite being made of a 'newspaper' type of card. The spine is also unmarked and is clearly legible. The back cover, wich folds down to make a larger newspaper format is also in excellent condition. This larger format paper then opens up and has a total of twelve pages (see photo 2). The pages have started to show a slight yellowing with age but are in good condition with no wear or tears as they have hardly been opened over the years. This 'local' newspaper is full of stories, competitons, adverts and even conatins all the lyrics to the song - and even a music review of the album!
The album comes with its original inner sleeve which has no splits or tears. It has had one corner folded over to allow easier insertion of the album and sleeve into the cover.

Jethro Tull released this album as a concept album. The lyrics are built around a poem written by a fictitious boy, Gerald Bostock, who I assume was Ian Anderson. There is only one song on the album which lasts over 43 minutes and covers both sides of the album - hence there are no individual tracks.
