'Another from my personal collection! Collected over a period of 35 years I have accumilated more than 50,000 albums alone mainly UK pressings! This original has been stored in a case for the best part of 25 years!! ,, With the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover the way that I have always stored my vinyls!!I have most of the original label variations of this album, this original ''black block'' island label is by far the rarest to ever find! These were only ever issued for an extreemely short period of time in fact only three or four months and was replaced by the familier 'pink i' labels! Please note! What also makes this so desirable was that this was pressed from the earliest original masters look A and B matrix endings and features no mother stampers These can only be found on the earliest of this type! Another important factor is that this has the earliest 'TEXTURED' labels! This is in awesome condition to boot! In my personal opinion and from my experiance from being an avid collector of these label variations this is the rarest of them all!!The actual vinyl is the earliest thickest chunky slab of vinyl and actually weighs 170 grams!! unbeleivable to find like this  !!!  

Stand Up is the second album by Jethro Tull. Prior to this album, the band's original guitarist Mick Abrahams had left the band due to musical differences with Ian Anderson. Abrahams wanted to stay with the blues-rock sound of This Was, while Anderson wished to branch out into other musical forms!!!!.

Stand Up represents the first album project on which Anderson was in full control of the music and lyrics. The album goes in a different direction from his earlier work, revealing influences from Celtic music, folk and classical music. The instrumental "Bourée" (one of Jethro Tull's better-known songs) is a re-working of "Bourrée in E minor" by J.S.Bach!!.

The album reached #1 on the British charts. The gatefold album cover, in a woodcut style designed by artist James Grashow, originally opened up similar to a child's pop-up book, so that a cut-out of the band's personnel stood up !!!!!

(ABSOLUTELY NO MOTHER STAMPERS! VERY VERY RARE AND COLLECTABLE LIKE THIS!!!)

The Vinyl

This is the MEGA heavier and thick type of vinyl only found on earliest pressings later are much more flimsier and less robust!!!! Also from my experience the thick vinyls produce the best audio quality!!!The vinyl actually weighs an astounding 170 grams!!

On initial inspection the vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable!! The vinyl retains its original glossy sheen from new and on initial inspection almost looks like new!!!!! looks AWESOME\superbe for an unbelievable 38 years old!!!Only in very strong light can very very very light fine surface marks\scuffs be be seen ! After playing this vinyl track for track these have very little effect what so ever that I heard!!on the truly awesome audio !!!!! This plays through cristal clear and vibrant throughout with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed This plays truly awesome in my opinion absolutely up there at the very top! on all frequencies!!!!!! Please note! I have played this at very loud volume on a top system! There was only one place that i can be critical about during the third track on side 1 ''Bouree' where is heard some (very very light) static crackle\ticks but nothing in my opinion that spoilt the overall awesome audio experiance! I must emphisis that the audio is very clear and vibrant with (no) signs of any distortion of that this has been overplayed what so ever!!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! This has been played at very loud volume prior to listing on a top system! I have given my honest opinion as i hear it! I would class myself as highly critical Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!!  Please allow for very (very) light static crackle\ticks and perhapes the odd tick here and there (not consistant through out the audio Please remember that this is a genuine 39 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 39 year old system!!!!I must emphisise that I heard (no) problems at all!!!!! I heard (no) clicks or pops and certainly (no) jumps or skips at all!!!! I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have solds of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!!!! I would rate this audio top!!! very vibrant\awesome!!!  The audio will be hard to surpass for an original 39 year old vinyl!!!!!! TOP TOP AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES IN MY OPINION THIS PLAYED TRULY AWESOME AND HAS A REAL DEEP BASEY FEEL, SUPERBE ON LOW FREQUENCIES!!!  

The Labels

These are the original 'PINK ISLAND (TEXTURED)LABELS'' With the original 'BLACK BLOCK' LOGO (ONLY EARLY PRESSINGS) These are definately the rarest and most difficult to ever find in good condition like this!, in awesome condition  VERY VERY limited amount of spidering can be seen only when angled in light!!This certainly sounds barely ever played!!!!!

The cover

This is the original  1ST PRESS ISLAND POP UP GATEFOLD COVER  Also in awesome condition for an original 39 years old !!!!Amaizingly ,, (NO) creasings that i can see at all worth to mention!!! very clean cover minor very small sticker residue stain at the rear (aprox 1cm round) barely noticable. AN EXCEPTIONAL COVER (see photos) Please note amaizingly (no)  flattening at the spine with age, very rare to find like this!!! The writing can be seen clearly! barely any storageware noticable unless you really look for it slightest rubbing at the edges and the lightest bare minimal corner bumping that's all ! Thje inside of the gatefold is perfect!!!! EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS!!!THIS COVER MUST BE EX \ PLUS! very near perfect!
