PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Includes the custom designed original printed lyrics inner sleeve ...
The 1973 Quadraphonic original issue uses a then, specially designed SQ decoder permiting the a 4 channel sound separation (as opposed to the regular 2 channel) when playback is through the quad system or even surround sound receiver, resulting in completely different song mixes that can be detected even on the 'normal' stereo system. The record company changed around the song mixes (sounding like things were added) to enhance the quadraphonic 4-channel listening experience....

....Retreating to the relative comfort of individual songs rather than long, continuous peices of music, in many ways, Warchild is one of the most overlooked Jethro Tull albums. Originally intended as an accompanying soundtrack to a movie, Warchild deals with the subject of possible choices to be made after death. Heady stuff, but not really the kind of thing that it's easy to make a film out of. There seems to be some confusion as to the success of the album, everyone agrees that it was hit in the USA, but some sources claim that it never even charted in the UK, which even given the fact that Tull were no longer the critic's favourites, seems highly unlikely given the sales of the album either side of it.
Of particular note is Martin Lancelot Barre's hard rock guitar work, which erupts through the stately song arrangements with impressive results. Ian Anderson plays saxophones in his unique whirling style as well as his flutes and guitars. Warchild also finds Anderson at the height of his powers as a vocalist, something for which he seems to get very little credit for.
For this project Anderson's songwriting had lightened somewhat since A Passion Play, which given the fact that they deal with the same subject is reasonably impressive. His patented sense of humour had returned as well, as songs like "Sealion" and "Bungle In The Jungle" demonstrate. Also benefiting from the injection of a sense of humour is "Two Fingers", which was the latest in a series of killer closing tracks for Tull albums. "Two Fingers" also demonstrated Anderson's ability to recycle previously discarded material, as the lyrics are largely taken from Tull's never released "Lick Your Fingers Clean" single. The arrangement and mood is quite different to the early rocking-prototype, but that doesn't prevent it being utterly superb and one of Tull's best songs. Another two tracks that had been salvaged from abandoned material are "Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day" and "Only Solitaire", songs that were originally cut during the Chateau D'Isaster sessions, but put on ice in favour of A Passion Play. Again, the material was too good to be lost for any great length of time.
Warchild particularly demonstrates Tull's ability to merge genre's to good effect, as evidenced on the often overlooked "The Third Hoorah" which incorporates rock, Elizabethan folk, a military marching band and classical structures. Like mentioned above, it's heady stuff and a new listening experience in 4 channel quadraphonic.
