Description

Jethro Tull 'Moths' Irish Pressing b/w Beltane
CHS 2214 Chrysalis Records 1978
Matrix Side A: CHS 2214 A//2 * USA 12  Matrix Side B: CHS 2214 B//2 P 14
This is the extremely rare Irish pressing of the Jethro Tull single 'Moths' with the B-side labelled as 'Beltane' when in fact it plays 'Life is a Long Song' instead. 'Beltane' was originally going to be the B-side but the band changed their minds and any mis-labelled copies of the Irish pressing were recalled leaving very few in circulation. This record hardly ever appears on eBay and I can only find evidence of two copies ever having been sold (you can check for yourself on Popsike). This elusive release is definitely something of a holy grail for Tull fans.
The vinyl is in amazing condition, retaining its shine and lustre without any major scrapes, scuffs or scratches. I have listened to both sides of the record and it sounds fantastic with very little surface noise. The paper labels are bright and clean without any tears, marks or writing. I would grade this record as Excellent. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have regarding this auction.
