JETHRO TULL - FROM A DEAD BEAT TO AN OLD SALMON - 1990 LIVE 2 CASSETTE CAN - MINT
This is an ultra-rare and mint live 2 cassette-can of Jethro Tull entitled "From A Dead Beat To An Old Salmon"; Tracks: Tanz; Wond'ring Aloud; Steel Monkey; Thick As A Brick; Living In The Past; Rock Island; Nelly, The Revenge; Cheap Day Return; Nursie; Mother Goose; Jack-A-Lynn; Farm On The Freeway; Serenade To A Cuckoo; A Christmas Song; Ian talks about industrial brass; Budapest; Strange Avenues; Kissing Willie; Ian speaks; Introductin of the band; The Pine Marten's Jig/Drowsy Maggy; Ian's experiences with gay weather-men; Dun Ringill; Jack-In-The-Green; Pussy Willow/Pibroch; A linguistic examination of the expression yee-ha; My God Incl. Bourée & Double Violin Concerto; Another Christmas Song; Love Story; Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll: Too Young To Die; Aqualung; Locomotive Breath; Fylingdale Flyer; Cheerio; Hardliner; Serenade To A Cuckoo; Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of The New Day.
It is the entire concert from Portsmouth Guildhall, England on 19th May 1990 that ends with "Cheerio"; "Hardliner" is the lost track from the "Rock Island" sessions, and "Serenade To A Cuckoo" and "Skating Away.." are recorded from the Kevin Seal Show from MTV in 1987. The audio quality of this recording is overall good to very good and sometimes excellent, although sometimes there is much rumour from the audience; the entire concert has been remixed and digitally mastered at Nova Atlantis Studios in London by Edward Kelly.
This tin can was released on the Baphomet Records label in late 1990/early 1991, catalogue number IHVH 6665282, made and printed in Germany. It was released at the same time as the 3LP box set (recently sold) and has the same release number. It is a normal tin can like you would find it in the supermarket but it contains the two cassettes of the concert, a T-shirt (size unknown, but probably 'Medium' like for the 3LP box), and a sheet listing all the tracks mentioned above; sizes are: height 12 cm; diameter 10 cm. This can was a limited release of only 200 pieces; this one being number 131! (see picture)
The can and all its contents are in mint/unplayed condition; as you can see on the picture, I have never opened it, and yes it has to be opened with a tin-opener! The Strathaird label is still nicely on the can; it has no tear, no wear, no writing, no nicks, absolutely mint!
As mentioned before this is an ultra-rare limited release in a nice tin can; a must have for the real Jethro Tull fan and collector !!
