even though a handful of copies have been sighted on the palm tree (pink rim) label (with or without gothic text) those are 'in-house' or export oddities
the first official release of Aqualung in the UK was on this, the green Chrysalis label, with the original ILPS 9145 (P. 1971) catalogue numbers, all lettering in gothic text and NO red 'i' island logos
original, unaltered matrix numbers: ILPS 9145 A-1U / ILPS 9145 B-3U
thicker, heavier pressing than later issues and no 'A PORKY PRIME CUT' annotation
fully textured (inside and out) thick gatefold cover by EJ Day and square (not tapered) thick paper (not card) inner sleeve with rear flipback 'flaps'
I have owned this 1st day, 1st press original since new and it has remained unplayed and stored in perfect archive conditions
fast becoming quite rare and
ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN THIS UNPLAYED ARCHIVE ORIGINAL CONDITION
