Jerry Springer -- "Faded Photos (Just Won't Do)" b/w "Save the Terminal" 7"

Original 197? private pressing on Cincinnati Council/The Terminal Records (matrix # R.R. #1/R.R. #2).

Scarce single of populist psych-tinged jangly country-folk-rock from the Jerry Springer, back in his days of Cincinnati politics in the mid-70's. Both songs are dramatic, overwrought pleas to save Cincinnati's Union Terminal from the wrecker's ball of progress ( "Save the Union Terminal/Save yourself a friend/So the mind's eye of your children/Can still see" -- "The future of the past is up to you" ).

The songs feature a full band, folksy vocal harmonies , some nice touches of slide guitar, tasteful sound effects and Jerry's unique, err.. deadpan.

This is an extremely rare record. This news article mentioning it is the only reference to I could find anywhere on the net:

From City Beat article: It was 1974, and he was vice mayor of Cincinnati... When Union Terminal faced demolition, Springer cut a record to support its preservation, a caterwauling rendition titled, "Save the Terminal."
