JEFFERSON AIRPLANE `SURREALISTIC PILLOW`:
ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL 60`s PYSCHEDELIC BANDS, WITH THEIR MOST CELEBRATED AND ICONIC ALBUM, CONTAINING THE CLASSIC LSD SONG `WHITE RABBIT`:

An absolute original American issue, in one of the heavy cardboard sleeves used in the USA at that time.

The disc is pressed on heavyweight vinyl and although played at the time, it remains in VG shiny condition, with no scratches or jumps. It sounds great!
The album has been carefully filed away in a plastic protective sleeve and unplayed for over 35 years.
It is clearly identifiable as an original US issue and is distinguishable from later American and UK re-pressings, by the catalague number LPM-3766 in the bottom left hand corner.
The cover is in remarkable condition, given the passage of 42 years! The front picture is in excellent condition with no tears, stains or writing. The only cover wear is along the edge and also a small 1cm tear to the paper at the very bottom middle of the rear of the sleeve. There is no damage to any of the back cover photo`s of the band.
This first pressing black label has the classic Nipper The Dog `His Master`s Voice` logo in colour, beneath the white printed `RCA VICTOR`. The bottom of the label has `MONAURAL` and `Made In U.S.A.` in silver print.
The protective inner paper sleeve is the original it was manufactured and first sold with, including an advert for the `Complete RCA Victor Catalog 25c`, available from RCA Victor, Rockaway, New Jersey. USA. This appears is alongside pictures of other RCA LP releases of the day including:-
Harry Belafonté / Sam Cooke / The Sound Of Music / Hello Dolly / Jim Reeves and Paul Anka
The MONO version of this album is by far the most dynamic in terms of sound. In these early days of stereo, such releases tended to be in fact, `Binaural`. i.e., harshly split left and right, with all vocals on one channel, all instrumentation on the other. (As were The Beatles early stereo releases). This produced an unnatural `thin` sound and was a pale comparision to the far more powerful mono version. The mono version also had different mixes.
