BLISTERING ALL instrumental album from the master of his craft. For me, this album is the penultimate example of his early period. The tracks are all very sympathetic to instrumental treatment and his lead playing is utterly evocative providing the perfect substitute for the absense of vocals. Surrounded by incredible players including keyboardists Max Middleton (from the Jeff Beck Group) and Jan Hammer, drummer Richard Bailey and bassist Wilbut Bascombe the music is uncluttered but hugely expressive. Sure, many have classified the style as jazz fusion but the rock element is always at the forground pushing and pulling where it matters most.
Songwise there are some interesting covers including 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat' (written by Charlie Mingus) and several Narada Michael Walden penned toons. 'Wired' remains an all time classic and a highpoint in Becks not inconsiderable arsenal. His guitar work is literally off the hook on the majority of these tracks and the production by George Martin is a lesson in consumate sonic architecture.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean and shiny condition - I would say unplayed. No spindle marks and no other signs of any use. Grades as a shop fresh museum quality MINT!
Cover: Again no signs of use. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 41 years. Grades as a shop fresh museum MINT!
