Description

French Decca FAT 173.601 (12-inch LP). JEAN GIRAUDEAU (Tenor of the Paris Opéra) and PIERRE BOULEZ "piano d'accompagnement et direction d'orchestre". STRAVINSKY - Trois petites chansons, Trois chansons enfantines, Berceuse du chat, Pribaoutki, Deux chants russes, and MUSSORGSKY: Chants et danses de la mort.

A record of the greatest rarity and of considerable interest not only because it is so unknown, but also because it features the great composer and conductor Pierre Boulez as pianist - this is his only published recording performing music by others at the piano, and is also his only recording of any music by Mussorsky. The LP is in wonderful condition. Though the sleeve is a little worn at the edges (no splitting), the disc itself appears from a close visual inspection to be near-mint, or may even be unplayed. A rare opportunity to acquire this amazing curiosity - in Boulez's 80th birthday year.
