This is a lovely copy of this mega scarce, very desirable JAZZ COLLECTORS ITEM, "THE ARRIVAL OF KENNY DORHAM", on the very obscure JARO label....featuring KENNY DORHAM,TRUMPET; CHARLIE DAVIS,BARITONE SAX; TOMMY FLANAGAN, PIANO; BUTCH WARREN, BASS; and BUDDY ENLOW, DRUMS.  There are only 2 JAZZ LPs from this label that I know of, the other being the very scarce J. R. Monterose LP. 

This LP was released in the mid or late 50's. The labels are clean, with very slight spindle marks. This is a double sided DEEP GROOVE pressing. The matrix #, JAM 5007 is etched into the run-out groove. As this is such an obscure record, I truthfully dont know as much about it as the Blue Notes. Any info from prospective bidders that are knowledgeable about JARO would be appreciated.
The LP itself is the thick, medium heavy vinyl associated with these late 50s pressings. This LP is in very conservatively rated VG+ condition, with clean, bright playing surfaces. There are a few light marks, nothing serious.  NO feel-able scratches at all. The sound is beautiful...reminicent of the classic Blue Note sound. Of course, there will be an occasional pop or click. This is a 60 year old record, and its not absolutely flawless.  Its all about the music, and this LP plays great! 
Ive been advised by a friend who is a very experienced seller to be very conservative on my ratings, as Im an avid collector, but a relatively new "seller".The classic LAMINATED cover is in VG condition, with splits (about 3 inches) at top and bottom right openings. There is also apparently some edge wear to the front right of the jacket, (see pic) its as though the laminate there has peeled away, leaving an 1/8 of an inch of exposed cover; its hard to figure out whether there was quality control issues with the label, and the cover slick just didnt match the width of the cover itself.  It really isnt a big deal, and with a little TLC, the cover can be brought back to VG+++. I just wanted to leave it for the buyer to determine how he/she wants to do that.  The LP has a solid spine and moderate shelf wear for an album that is close to 60 years old. The original inner sleeve from JARO is included, also on VG condition. The cover, again, overall is VG. The unique graphics, and photos are all sharp and clear. Overall, a very presentable copy of this very very rare LP.

I am a Jazz Pianist and Recording Artist, and have been collecting Rare Jazz LPs for many years. This is one from my personal collection. I assure you, all the LPs I will be offering here have been meticulously taken care of, and only played rarely, on a Sota Sapphire Turntable, with a Grado Reference Cartridge. They have been kept inside a temperature controlled room in my home, in plastic dust jackets. In other words, you can bid in confidence, knowing these LPs come from someone who has loved them and babied them. I reluctantly am beginning to sell some of my LPs, and hope they go to someone who will love them as I have.

All LPs will be carefully packed in strong, proper LP boxes, well protected, and sent USPS PRIORITY MAIL or EXPRESS MAIL so proper tracking is available. Media Rate for domestic shipments is available, but not recommended. For overseas buyers, ( Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, etc)  we recommend EXPRESS MAIL, or REGISTERED MAIL for proper tracking. We keep very close watch on all shipments through United States Post Office and Customs. Shipping costs are always based on your location.
