Here is a rather rare live recording JAZZ ALBUM titled JAZZ DANCE, recorded at the Central Plaza on New York's Lower East Side. Jaguar RECORDS (catalog JP 801) PRESENTS JAZZ DANCE MUSIC FROM The Original Sound Track A FILM BY ROGER TILTON. This is JAZZ in the DIXIELAND style. According to the back of the album cover, "One night we held the most fabulous jam session ever. We took it all down with movie cameras and microphones, the sights, the sounds, the feverish enthusiasm of living jazz. The film "JAZZ DANCE" and this disc are the results." The session was made with the "very top performer on each instrument in the band." Pee Wee Russell, clarinet; Pops Foster, bass; Jimmy Archey, trombone; George Wettling, drums; Jimmy McPartland, trumpet; Willie "The Lion" Smith, piano. The PLAY LIST: Side 1: 1 Jazz Blues; 2 Ballin' The Jack. Side 2: 1 The Royal Garden Blues; 2 When The Saints Go Marchin' In. This 10", 33RPM vinyl record, released in 1954, is in overall very good (VG+) , used condition, with a few minor surface scratches which do not affect play.
