DESCRIPTION

Jane Fielding with The Kenny Drew Quintet - “Embers Glow” Jazz: West Records JWLP-5 (Mono) from 1956. Great and super Hard To Find Original First Pressing Female Jazz Vocal Album from Jane Fielding backed by Kenny Drew and his Quintet featuring Joe Maini, Ted Efantis, Paul Chamers, Leroy Vinnegar and Lawrence Marable. Flat Rim First Pressing on the Deep Groove Red Jazz: West label!

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight basic shelf wear and some corner softening / wear. The top seam is half split and the bottom seam is about a third split. There seems to be some some fading of the color around the three edges of the cover besides the opening edge. Still nice with no writing, tears, cutouts, stains, etc. and I would rate it VG. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition. There are overall scuffs and light hairlines - no actual scratches, i.e. something that can be felt with a fingernail. There is a slight warp at the outer edge that does not affect play and shouldn’t on any but the most sensitive turntables. Plays well with some light groove noise and soft tics in spots, nothing that really detracts. Not an audiophile's dream but a good listen and I would rate it VG. The labels show a bit of wear around the spindle hole but are Near otherwise Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
