Sheffield Lab catalog number LAB23, James Newton Howard hooks up with Toto members David Paich and the Porcaro brothers, their huge glasses and, for good measure, Jeff and Steve's dad Joe, for a direct-to-disc recording that featured Yamaha's new-for-'84 line of digital synths, James Newton Howard and Friends. Good fusion-style stuff with the unbelievable drumming of the late great Jeff Porcaro. Great sound--par for the course for LPs on this one-take label. Includes the insert of stiff cardboard, two-sided, with liners, photos and credits. Cover is EX with a little creasing of the paper on the back cover, top: wasn't glued well.
