SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES!! This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1961 U.S. MONO PRESSING WITH 'SMOKING GUN' COVER OF THE 1959 KING RECORDS LP titled 'Try Me', the third album from R&B legend James Brown And The Famous Flames. It is King Records catalog number 635, black King Records labels with silver print with the crownless wide King Records logo. This album bears the original front cover artwork with the spectacular great drawing of the woman holding a cigarette in one hand and a smoking gun in the other. Tracks: Try Me, (You Made Me Love You) I Want You So Bad, I Won't Plead No More, There Must Be A Reason, Why Do You Do Me, I've Got To Cry, Fine Old Foxy Self, Strange Things Happen, Messing With The Birds, It Was You, I've Got To Change, Can't Be The Same, It Hurts To Tell You, You're Mine You're Mine, Gonna Try, Don't Let It Happen To Me. Visual condition of record is VG with a moderate to fair amount of visible surface marks, none of which can be felt and none of which will affect play, and a couple of surface scratches which can be felt and which will cause some ticks, should not skip. Condition of cover is also VG with the main flaw being splits along the entire length of the top and bottom edges (I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits by taping from the inside). Spine is intact and solid. Cover also has a few small stains, some age discoloration on the white areas of the back cover, some ring and contact wear, and some wear and flaking along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no tears, stickers, or writing. This rare and sought-after LP has one of the greatest pieces of cover art in the entire record hobby - It would be a choice cornerstone component of any James Brown or soul / R&B record collection!
