In the wake of James Brown's first substantial pop hit, "Prisoner of Love," King rushed out this LP, as usual drawing upon old singles ("Try Me," "Lost Someone," "Bewildered"), B-sides ("Waiting in Vain," the organ instrumental "[Can You] Feel It [Part 1]"), and Brown's then-current single, "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered" (not the Stevie Wonder song). The idea seemed to be to put together a collection in the medium-tempo, string-filled, lovelorn style of the hit, so there was a lot of pleading on this record. Brown would always be more interested in the dancefloor than the bedroom, but he was a convincing romantic beggar, so the album's loose concept held together.

(a)          THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)          The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more  preferable to its FAKE ("electronically rechannelled") stereo counterpart. We estimate that FAKE stereo copies of this album outnumber monos by a ratio of at least 10:1.

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER IS NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP (WE WOULD HAVE GRADED IT STRONG NEAR MINT BUT FOR THE MINOR PROBLEM DESCRIBED BELOW)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         [PLEASE NOTE: THE PRESENCE OF TARNISH (ONLY ON BACK PANELS) OF THE STILL SEALED KING / BETHLEHEM / AUDIO LAB LP ALBUMS IS A KNOWN AND WELL DOCUMENTED PHENOMENON AND SHOULD NOT BE INTERPRETED AS A SIGN OF RESEALING; THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE TYPE OF CARBONATED PAPER KING FAMILY OF LABELS WAS USING FOR THEIR BACK PAPER SLICKS, WHICH WAS SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE EROSION OF THE SURFACE (CARBONATED) LAYER OF THE PAPER)
