Description
This is a fine copy from a c. 1997 reissue (per Discogs) on the Polydor label of a 1969 LP by James Brown. Brown's LPs through the '60s tended to be hodgepodges of singles and LP tracks in different styles (R&B, soul -- later funk -- and straight pop), sometimes padded with previously released material. This LP is one of his most consistent of the decade. The two-part title track was one of his fiercest funk hits, reaching #1 on the R&B chart, and the rest of side 1, while not up to that level, follows suit. Side 2 kicks off with a funky two-part live track, "The Little Groove Maker Me." The rest of the LP is padded with a couple of pop songs, a remake of his earlier hit "Out of Sight" (titled "You're Still Out of Sight"), and an instrumental. The jacket is close to pristine (M-). The disc is clean with some fingerprints, and plays with a little light surface noise (M-).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
