Description
Jamboree!, Warner Bros., no catalog number, from 1957. Promo-only release, prior to the formation of the actual Warner Bros. Label.
Contains a whopping 22 songs from the film, although most are close to two minutes.
Pop, jazz, rockabilly, teen, doo-wop, & country tracks by Count Basie, Joe Williams, Andy Martin, Connie Francis, Carl Perkins, Paul Carr, Frankie Avalon with Rocco & His Saints, Charlie Gracie, Jodie Sands, Jerry Lee Lewis (an ALTERNATE version of "Great Balls Of Fire"), Ron Coby, (Frankie's brother) Lewis Lymon & The Teenchords ("Your Last Chance" – which I previously knew only from the Dovells version), Slim Whitman ("Unchain My Heart" – slightly different song from the later Ray Charles hit), The Four Coins, Martha Lou Harp, Jimmy Bowen, Buddy Knox ("Hula Love"), and Fats Domino ("Wait And See").
VG+ cover, bottom seam taped in the center due to wear-through, and VG+ record (NOTE that the previous owner had red-markered (or red-penciled) some of the label titles AND sort of spiral-markered the actual black record grooves). The red did not come off with either diluted alcohol or with detergent & water. I gave up on trying other methods, since the record plays all the way through OK, and the marker (or pencil) does not seem to have affected the sound.
No, you can't feel or hear the red marks.
