JACO PASTORIUS Word Of Mouth 1981 Warner Bros 1st Press White Label Promo BSK 3535 Monarch SLM
This is Jaco Pastorius’ 1981 studio album Word of Mouth, released on Warner Bros Records and widely regarded as one of the definitive electric jazz fusion records of the era. The album expands Jaco’s compositional scope beyond bass virtuosity into full ensemble writing, featuring extended pieces like “Liberty City” alongside concise arrangements such as “Chromatic Fantasy” and “Blackbird.”
This copy is a genuine Warner Bros white label promotional pressing, manufactured for radio and industry use. Warner Bros promo LPs from this period often do not state “Promotional Use Only” on the label, instead identified by blank white labels and a notched jacket, both of which are present here. The original picture inner sleeve is also included and promo-notched to match the jacket.
Pressed at Monarch Record Mfg. with Sheffield Lab Matrix plating, this is an early first pressing promo with correct catalog number, original labels, and confirmed first-run matrices.
