This is an original UK FIRST PRESSING of the ridiculously rare THE FIFTH AVENUE BUS  by JACKSON HEIGHTS . It is on the superb Swirls/Spiral Vertigo record label .  Vertigo records is without doubt the most collectible record label in the world.  Of all of the LPs Spiral Vertigo ever put out (i think they released 80 in total). This LP is another one of the more difficult VERTIGO LP`s there is to find. These first  pressing Vertigo`s are near impossible to find as the years go by and its getting harder and harder to find them in acceptable condition . This album in particular when it does rarely show up it tends to have serious damage to the doors of the bus. Double click the pictures, and you will see the doors on this sleeve are in EXCELLENT condition they even remain closed when the LP  is laid flat. Of all the other copies of this LP over the years I have never seen a sleeve in better  condition as this one right here.It has the lightest showing of ring ware to the front and back . The very lightest edge ware and a couple of exceptionally light corner dents so overall I think its EXCELLENT MINUS. To find this sleeve with doors this good is near impossible. Inside this great none laminated  gate fold shows the smallest amount of fading to the edges, it really is as good as the outside. The spine is excellent. The original VERTIGO inner sleeve is present and the cellophane is still completely attached even after 43 years ! Both of the record labels are SUPERB with only a few spindle  trails visible to side 2 . The vinyl under a normal light looks flawless to both sides. Only under a really  bright spot light you can see the lightest hairlines from moving the vinyl out of its inner sleeve over the years. Both sides 1 and 2 have retained a beautiful new look and shimmer like mirror when tilted towards the light with the highest luster sheen indicating very careful play over the lifetime of this rare record.  This has been really well cared for. I test played this record and it plays as well as it looks.  Only in the really quiet parts you can hear light background static noise but that dispels as soon as the  music and vocal gets going and this great LP. The album plays all the way through entirely with no clicks,  pops jumps or sticking at all.This LP is one of those great Vertigo LP`s that to my mind gets totally over  looked by even the most dedicated Vertigo collectors. The music on here is ASTOUNDING.  Typically English early 1970`s prog rock at its finest with the lyrics to match. My favorite lyrics on this great LP have to be "We think he`s one of those" and "Finger a Dyke".For the year 1972 ground breaking stuff I think.....Youtube the track Pastor Rodger, magnificent totally magnificent. These ORIGINAL ENGLISH SPIRAL VERTIGO`s are rare in any condition.ESPECIALLY THIS ONE. To find this LP in this condition,forget it. This items condition is well worth your maximum bid.  Sell your own copy and knock the money you get for that off what you pay for this.
