Description
- Jackson Browne released his self-titled debut album in 1972 on Asylum Records. It is often incorrectly referred to as "Saturate Before Using" because those words are printed above his name on the front but it is actually only part of the cover art that was meant to simulate a burlap water bag. The record company argued against the cover art but were overruled because Jackson (wrongly) didn't think anyone would think that was the album title.
- This copy (SD 5051) is from the first pressing in 1972 and is still in its original shrink wrap. It's also notable because the initial covers like this one were textured to simulate the feel of burlap. The original color inner sleeve is included and is in mint condition. The album cover is in excellent condition and I rate it as VG+. The disc plays very cleanly and I rate it as VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
