JACKIE OPEL ‘THE LORD IS WITH THEE’ b/w ‘JUST A LITTLE MORE’ ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE 1965 SKA BEAT 45 RPM
Record Condition: Vg, noticeable ‘ssh’ but music plays well throughout both sides without tracking problems. B side has a few pops also. Overall, a perfectly serviceable playing out copy.
No centre; This single comes from a 60’s DJ’s collection. That’s why the label has both the artist and title and even the catalogue number scratched out on both sides. Such was the dark art of the ska and soul DJs of the era to avoid giving away their favourite tunes to jealous onlookers!
A very, very rare, much sought after single on the original issue, Ska Beat label, albeit, a bit the worse for wear. Low start, no reserve, here to sell. You won’t see this around again for a long, long while. Rare, original tunes like this don’t come out of private collections once they’re found.
I also have a few other rare Ska and Northern soul rarities currently listed for auction.
