Description

JACKIE IVORY "Soul Discovery" UK ATLANTIC STEREO MINT

JACKIE IVORY
Soul Discovery

ORIGINAL 1966 UK ATLANTIC (SAL 5046) FIRST *STEREO* PRESSING OF JACKIE IVORY'S DEBUT LP IN SENSATIONAL CONDITION (I don't think this copy has ever been played - the labels are clean and unmarked with no spindles or signs of use and the vinyl surfaces shine like new) - INCREDIBLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS AN ORIGINAL UK STEREO - ESPECIALLY IN SUCH EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION - THIS A FANTASTIC LP FULL OF ORGAN FUELLED JAZZ/NORTHERN SOUL FLAVOURED INSTRUMENTALS - GREAT STUFF

THE RECORD IS PRESSED BY DECCA ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH THE FIRST BLUE ATLANTIC *STEREOPHONIC* LABELS, 'MADE IN ENGLAND BY THE DECCA RECORD CO. LTD.' STATEMENT AND DECCAS CHARACTERISTIC 'GROOVE'
MATRIX: AMZ-2852-1L / AMZ-2853-1L (with 'MT' tax code on both labels and etched at the six o'clock position on both run-offs)
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 1/U and 1/U (marking this copy out as one of the first 300-600 off the press - could even be earlier as the preceding B stamper letter may have never been used)
AND IT'S HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FRONT LAMINATED FLIPBACK COVER "Printed in England by MacNeill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1"
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLY-LINED DECCA COMPANY *STEREOPHONIC RECORD* INNER SLEEVE WITH PINK PRINT

JACKIE IVORY - ORGAN
PAUL RENFRO - TENOR SAX
BILL NICKS - DRUMS

Side One: HIGH HEEL SNEAKERS / FREDDY THE FREELOADER / I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO / THE MONKEY WOMAN
Side Two: LONELY AVENUE / DO IT TO DEATH / SISTER SADIE / THANK HEAVEN

LABELS: The labels are clean, fresh and unmarked with no spindles or signs of use - beautiful copy - in my opinion, unplayed - MINT
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are unmarked save for one tiny superficial blemish on the Side One run-off - this has no audio consequence - MINT(-)
VINYL Audio: Crystal clear, clean, sharp and rich cut with tremendous clarity and stereo separation. Beautifully recorded and engineered (as you would expect from Decca who produced some of the finest sounding records of the period). On playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are absolutely no audio issues to report - the record sounds sensational and plays beautifully and cleanly from beginning to end. Fantastic copy, critically graded MINT for audio - the playback is flawless
SLEEVE: The front laminated cover is also in great condition. The edges and spine are crisp and square with no wear to speak of - all spine text is clear and bold and the laminated front still has a deep, glossy sheen with just some record impression. The back is unmarked with again, some record impression but no damage to the flipback sections. Overall, a beautifully preserved example - a very strong EXCELLENT
