JACK LONDON & THE SPARROWS (STEPPENWOLF) - BEAT / GARAGE / PSYCH - NEW VINY LP

Originally released on CAPITOL in 1968. This band is often referred to as the first British Invasion band not only in Canada, but in the whole of North-America. It was formed in Oshawa in 1964 by London-born Dave Marden (Jack London) and quickly aquired a good reputation and a solid local following. After moving to Toronto they released their only album, which was the first beat album in Canada to containing only original songs. The album has several stand-out tracks, with a marked Beatles / Zombies sound, and is often seen in "favourite" lists by well-known rock'n'roll writers. 

This is the very same Oshawa, Ontario, Sparrow that would later evolve into Steppenwolf, after exchanging Jack London for John Kay. This album, originally recorded in 1965, includes all five of their singles, plus a pair of Jerry Edmonton sung tunes. It's a mix of soft and fast beat/pop, R&B, and ballads and featuring vocal harmony.
