Description

All six of Johann Sebastian Bach’s suites for Violincello played by Pierre Fournier.

 

There are three LPs in total, all ARCHIVE Production (History of Music Division of Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft). Each LP is in a three-fold cover with technical notes in German, English and French.

 

All LPs in excellent condition, as are the sleeves. I hesitate to say ‘MINT’ condition on items that are not new but records described as ‘excellent’ show no signs of wear, scratches or marks.

Additional note

I have been asked various questions about these records. There appears to be no mention of whether these LPs are mono or stereo so I conclude that they are probably mono. They are a curious, possibly rare collection; I have others in the same series (bought at auction so no history available except that I believe them to have come from a scholar of music). They have certainly been produced with the study of music intended. The English translation on the central title page says ‘From the History of Occidental music. Research Periods I – XII’. The accompany notes are of a technical nature. They have been looked after very well and the sound quality is quite extraordinary.
