This auction is for the ORIGINAL Soundhouse tapes EP I bought when I saw Iron Maiden with DJ Neal Kay, at the Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow University on saturday the 2nd february 1980. Iron Maiden were one of my favourite bands among the many I saw during the late 70s and early 80s in Glasgow. I have shown the photo of the original concert ticket that I still have.
Please note THE TICKET IS NOT FOR SALE DURING THIS AUCTION, it is only there as proof that the Soundhouse Tapes was actually purchased at the 1980 concert, proving it is ORIGINAL. It will be on ebay within the next few weeks.
The sleeve is in very good condition, the ONLY mark to the front is a light crease to the bottom edge to the left of the centre. It is possible to see it on the photo but closer photos are available if required. Very very slight whitening to the two bottom corners, after the cover was correctly stored in an upright position. Very slight ring mark to the rear of the sleeve. The original, as shown here, has the sleeve opening to the top, as per photo.
There are VERY light surface scratches to the surface of the disc, simply caused when removing or replacing the EP into the sleeve. It has only been played four or five times maximum, in 1980. It has been kept in a stiff card-backed plastic pocket ever since. Side 2 has marks on the label, as if the top surface of the paper was missing when printed. These are shown on the photo and were present from new. They are visible when examined closely, but please remember they are as produced and NOT due to later damage. The pressing details on the side 1 fade out area are Rok-1-A, *EG*, SA, and very light LYN 7627-1T. The markings on side 2 fade out area are Rok-1-B, *EG*, SA and again very lightly LYN7628-1T.
Due to the rarity and condition, I as very happy to provide further photos of the disc, labels and sleeve to anyone who wants them. Please send me an email address since its easier to attach photos to a personal email address than an ebay message.
I have a large collection of tickets, posters, flyers etc from the concerts I attended dating back to 1977, including many punk and 'New Wave Of British Heavy Metal' NWOBHM items. I am slimming my collection and this is the ONLY reason the Soundhouse Tapes is for sale. If intending to buy from outside the UK, please ask for an insured postage price. The international economy shipping figure is a general cost and not specific to all coutries.
